C-Suite Partners is pleased to partner with St Vincents Health Australia (SVHA) on the search for a General Manager / Director of Clinical Services, Mater Hospital (MHS).
  
This role offers a unique opportunity for an experienced healthcare leader to provide operational leadership to the MHS and contributes to the development and achievement of private hospital strategic initiatives.  
  
MHS is a 223-bed tertiary hospital facility in North Sydney. The hospital features specialised services including ICU, orthopaedics, obstetrics, cardiology, cancer care and surgery, with robust community engagement and philanthropic initiatives.
 
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, NSW Private Hospitals, the General Manager / Director of Clinical Services will be responsible for ensuring strong operational performance delivering excellent clinical care outcomes, effective and efficient systems and practices, and excellence in staff engagement and patient NPS.
  
This role involves working closely with members of the NSW private hospitals executive and other key stakeholders, promoting SVHA in the community, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements associated with clinical practice.
  
Key Responsibilities:
  • Leadership – lead the day-to-day management of MHS, fostering a high-performance operating environment.
  • Quality and Safety – ensure MHS achieves the highest levels of quality and safety in clinical performance.
  • Financial and Operational Performance – work with the CFO to ensure MHS operates within a robust set of financial and operational guidelines.
  • Execute organisational and group strategies, aligning hospital actions with overarching plans and ensuring cohesive strategic execution. 
  • Promote MHS in the community through media engagement and participation in local events, fostering community trust and support crucial for growth. 
  • Engage key stakeholders to enhance the organisational presence, building mutually beneficial partnerships with the medical community, government agencies, and charitable organisations. 
  • Ensure unwavering compliance with licensing, accreditation, and regulatory requirements, demonstrating a commitment to quality standards and legal obligations. 
  • Foster a culture of service excellence within MHS, instilling a commitment to exemplary patient care and operational efficiency for meeting key performance outcomes. 
  • Collaborate with SVHA’s senior executive team and other networked hospitals to strengthen synergies, fostering collective growth and a more impactful presence in the healthcare sector.
  
  Key Requirements:
  • Strong management experience in a private or tertiary acute care hospital.
  • Presents with a clinical background, with current registration as a Nurse/Midwife.
  • Proven experience in strategic planning, execution, and change management in healthcare. 
  • Demonstrated experience leading performance and innovation across services, finance and employee engagement. 
  • Facility development management experience. 
  • Strong commercial/financial acumen, with exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. 
  • Coach, mentor, develop and inspire people, creating a high-performance culture.
  • Tertiary qualifications in economics, business management, health or a related field.
