The Hobart Clinic is a not-for-profit mental health service, commitment to providing high-quality care, offering a range of mental health and addiction recovery programs.
Established in 1984, the Clinic originally began providing accommodation for former Royal Derwent Hospital patients. Over time, it has grown into a leading non-government mental health service, with a 27-bed facility and consulting suites.
Reporting directly to the CEO as a member of the Group Executive, the role is critical to the Hobart Clinic’s Strategic Plan, with responsibility for leading the development, delivery and expansion of evidence-based, trauma-informed and client-centred programs that are co-designed with people with lived experience of mental health challenges.
The ideal executive will be an innovative, agile and contemporary mental health leader and subject matter expert, with a strong growth mindset.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and implementation of annual Mental Health & Wellbeing Programs schedule for in-patients and out-patients across Tasmania.
- Build and maintain a high performing team and culture, including recruitment, team planning, professional development and performance management.
- Oversee the financial management and performance of the programs.
- Drive the development and expansion of new programs that fit within The Hobart Clinic’s ethos and model of care.
- Work closely with Communications and Marketing to develop a suite of collateral to promote and extend the reach and increase uptake of therapeutic programs.
- Establish, grow and maintain strategic partnerships with key allied health professionals.
Key Requirements:
- Strong experience in the operational management of allied health professionals and commissioning of mental health services.
- Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary approaches to mental healthcare, including evidence-based, trauma-informed, client-centred services.
- High level emotional intelligence, written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work with a range of stakeholders and personalities.
- Highly competent with ICT, including M365 software applications and video conferencing applications.
- Demonstrated capability to work independently with limited supervision and manage a remotely located team, together with competing priorities and deadlines.
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field or equivalent work experience and current registration with relevant mental health professional body.
