This is a large-scale leadership role, responsible for the effective delivery of manufacturing and logistics services, including overseeing the processing, testing and distribution of lifesaving blood and biological products across Australia.
A significant focus for the role is building culture and engagement of the workforce.

Reporting to the Lifeblood’s Chief Executive Officer, as a key member of the Executive, the role plays a critical role in shaping strategy, driving operational excellence, embedding innovation, and maintaining compliance with strict regulatory standards, while ensuring a culture of continuous improvement and safety.
The ideal candidate is an inspiring and dynamic leader with demonstrated success in leading large teams through a cultural transformation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of Lifeblood’s manufacturing operations across Australia.
- Develop and execute end-to-end strategies to support the operationalisation of the Lifeblood Unlocked – Strategy 2027.
- Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure that every step of the process adheres to the highest standards of safety and quality; and that products meet demand and exceed the expectations of donors, patients and health providers.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless coordination and communication throughout the manufacturing process.
- Identify areas for process improvement and implement automation and systems to optimise production workflows, reduce costs, and increase operational efficiency.
- Extensive leadership experience in large-scale manufacturing, logistics, or operational environments, ideally within highly regulated sectors.
- Demonstrated success in leading large, distributed teams through significant change and complexity.
- Strong track record of achieving operational efficiency, compliance, and financial outcomes.
- Proven ability to build collaborative relationships with diverse stakeholders, including government and regulatory bodies.
- Post graduate qualification in a relevant field.
